Unit 2 - Assignment 2 - Task 2 - Install hardware & Install device drivers

Install hardware components (Graphics card) and installing Device drivers

Here is the graphics card which I installed and the VGA adapter that came with it.
Step -1 unpackaging the graphics card
start by taking the graphics card out of the packaging along with the installation CD which contained the drivers for the graphics card.
 Step 2 - Connecting the graphics card
Connect the graphics card to the PCI x16 slot on the motherboard and screw it in to the case to ensure that it's secure.













Installing device drivers
Now that the graphics card is installed we will also need to install the correct device drivers so that the graphics card can function correctly.
Step 1 - Starting the installation
Start by inserting the CD that accompanies the graphics card into the CD drive, firstly you'll be asked your language once you've selected this you'll be shown a menu like the one below. start by clikcinhg on the install drivers option .
Step 2 -Installation
Once the installation process has begun choose where you wish for the files to be stored i've chosen the default directory. The files will then be extracted as shown in the picture to the right.


Step 3 - Installation
 Once all the files have been extracted you may then choose the type of installation you wish to carry out express or custom I've chosen express. You will then need to choose a destination folder and agree to the terms and conditions.


upon agreeing to the terms and conditions you may need to also agree to create the directory you've chosen if it doesn't already exist.
 The actual installation is now taking place .
Congratulations you've successfully installed the graphics cards device drivers ! for the installation to be complete you will need restart your system .
